In the heart of the Lake District national park, Haweswater Hotel has a bar and a lake view terrace. Brasserie 37 overlooks the lake and offers a menu of local, seasonal produce. Location was secluded, beautiful, quiet, and well-tended. Beds were amazingly comfortable, staff were so kind and attentive, and Alicia was wonderful as our server for dinner. We could not have asked for a better first night in England after a long first days' travel from Atlanta, Georgia. We only wished we could stay another night or more. And we loved the pet-friendly atmosphere and really appreciated your support of the local environmental organizations - we gave many donations for several bird pins in the rescue organization's box at the entrance and our daughter loved selecting which ones she wanted. I donated for one for my 78-year-old mother at home and she was so delighted to hear about your hotel and how we came to find this pin for her. We hope to return soon.

A 5-minute drive from Bassenthwaite Lake, Ravenstone Manor is an 19th-century manor house set in 3 hectares of ground. The property is at the foot of Skiddaw, overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. We had an amazing time at the ravenstone, as this is the second time for us to stay there. Everything was very smooth and easy starting from checking in which literally took seconds to get done after our long drive, the staff were genuine and friendly The bed is so comfortable with lovely views from our window, and the room was nice and clean. The owners were welcoming and friendly and made sure that our stay felt like home. I was quite impressed by the sticky toffee pudding as it’s my favourite dessert and tasted divine! Had a lovely dinner near the fireplace “I highly recommended booking table 9” as you’ll get to sit right next to it, and that made our dinner night very cosy. We’ve stayed in some of the best hotels in Cumbria but this is our favourite and the best value for money. 👍🏻

Set in Bowland Bridge, Mason's Arms has a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The feeling of staying in a genuine English country pub in a village. We had an excellent dinner next to a roaring fire. Waking up to a mist filled valley was quite an amazing sight. The accomodation was very good. It would be a wonderful weekend getaway.

FAQs about hotels in Lake District

Poetic Artistry at its Best

The inspiration behind many a poet, the serene Lake District has majestic peaks and glorious lakes that form the UK’s largest and most visited national park.

A particular favourite of Wordsworth, Windermere is England’s longest lake and her waters are still plied by historic boats. With a range of luxury Lake District hotels and a Beatrix Potter Museum, the town is connected by cable-operated car ferry to a spot close to Near Sawrey where Miss Potter once lived. Near the lake’s northern tip is popular Ambleside, home of the Stock Ghyll Force waterfall.

网上体彩投注appA road goes north from here past picturesque Grasmere and Thirlmere lake to Keswick. Set by Derwent Water, this pretty town is overlooked by Skiddaw, while Scafell Pike – England’s highest mountain – is to its south-west. Bassenthwaite lake is north-west, and Glenridding to the east is on the shores of the popular sailing spot of Ullswater, watched over by Helvellyn.

In the Southern Lakes, Coniston is a small village by a lake offering watersports. South-west is the port town of Barrow-in-Furness, and also by the sea is Grange-over-Sands with its long promenade. Kendal is known for its tasty mint cake and has a museum of Lakeland life, as well as a good range of Lake District hotels with pools on Booking.com.
